Let’s all be good cookies | Charlotte Child + Family Photographer

It is easy these days to feel overwhelmed by all of the troubling scenes taking place around our world.  As a parent to young children, it can be worrisome to think about what the world will be like when they are adults.  I, personally, love the idea of one sweet world full of kindness and peace, and as much as I know that one day soon my sweet guys will start to learn about all of the sadness actually taking place, for now I am going to embrace their innocence and do my best to plant seeds of kindness and helpfulness in the hopes that it will all pay off down the road.

IMG_9315One particular way that I try to impress upon my boys the idea of thinking about others is with a book that I gifted them during the holidays.  The book, One Good Deed a Day, is available on Amazon here.  I also gifted it to a few others, and my hope is that they are busy using it to help make the world a better place little by little as well.  The book shares 365 ways to be a good cookie and even has a spot for you to note the date {not to mention how darling and beautiful the little book is itself}.  There are a few spots at the end where you are able to write in your own ideas if you get carried away as well!

IMG_9314For my littles, it acts as a nice reminder that being kind is exciting and good.  We do our best to document our good deeds within the journal, and the boys really love being able to find our good deed within the book and mark the date when we accomplished it.  Plus, years down the road, I know I will love looking back through our book to reminisce about all of the kindness that we did our best to spread.

IMG_9319I would love to hear how you and your family spread goodness in your neighborhood, and if you have a photograph to show your family in action, please feel free to share!  Let’s spread some love.
