My husband and I both hail from right outside of Pittsburgh, PA and moved here after graduating from college. Our childhood friends as well as our friends from our college years are spread out but are mostly still in the northeastern part of the country. So, aside from social media, we do not often get to visit with these treasured friends. And then came along one day last fall…
One of my husband’s childhood friends reached out because he and his family (whom I had not yet met) had just relocated from Michigan to within 25 miles of our home in Charlotte, NC. I love when the world is small like that! He wanted to know if I had any availability for a photo session for him and his family, and if I didn’t squeal out loud, then I was dancing around the room with excitement. So, of course, we set a date.

The day came and it was cold and windy but perfect at the same time. The comfort of settling back into an old friendship is such a gift. And getting to meet his gorgeous wife and most darling children was an added treat.

Capturing families (ones that I’ve known for years or just met) together is such an honor. Being able to showcase how families connect and love one another is easily one of the best parts of my job. Thank you, ‘F’ family for allowing me to showcase you!
